What’s the difference between diaphragm and centrifugal pumps?

Diaphragm pumps provide higher pressure for long-range spot spraying and tree work; centrifugal pumps provide higher flow for dust control, quick fill, and fire streams.

Can I mix fire retardant?

Yes, fire control skids are compatible with approved retardants. Follow chemical guidelines and flush after use.

How to Size Your Tank

Sizing comes down to three questions. Work through them in order and the right capacity range falls out. If any of it is unclear, a Sales Specialist can size it with you over the phone.

1. What are you storing?

Potable water, wastewater, chemical, and fuel each carry different wall and fitting requirements. This decides the tank type before capacity ever comes up.

2. How much do you need on hand?

For septic, state code sets a minimum based on bedroom count. For water and chemical, work from daily draw times the number of days you need to cover between refills.

3. Where does it go?

Above ground, buried, or mounted on a trailer. Burial requires a burial-rated tank, and trailer mounting limits you to baffled transport designs.

Choosing the Right Material

Most of what we stock is poly, but material choice changes with what is going in the tank and how long it sits there.

HDPE Poly	Potable and non-potable water, general storage, most site work	Rated to 1.5 specific gravity. Check the rating before storing anything heavier than water.
XLPE Poly	Aggressive chemicals, acids, and caustics	Cannot be repaired by welding the way HDPE can.
Galvanized Steel	Long-term water cisterns, rainwater harvesting, exposed installs	Needs a liner for potable use. Not suited to chemical storage.
Stainless Steel	Potable water where taste and long service life matter	Highest cost per gallon of anything we carry.
Flexible Fabric	Pillow tanks, temporary bulk storage, sites with no pad	Needs a cleared, debris-free footprint. Not a permanent install.
